Hailing from Gabon in Central Africa, Noureddin Bongo Valentin has always been drawn to this region and the African continent from a social, economic and cultural perspective. It was naturally a place where Mr Valentin sought to commence his career.

Having graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, Noureddin Bongo Valentin began his professional career at Olam, a leading food and agri-business company at its headquarters in Libreville. It is impossible to overstate the strategic importance of the agriculture sector to the African continent and indeed its potential. With booming populations, there is a necessity for African nations to increase their yields and export.

Noureddin Bongo Valentin also embarked on his own commercial ventures. This includes, but is not limited to, opening several restaurants in Libreville under the Mayena Foods brand, in addition to founding Shanah Investments – an investment firm that also offers consultancy services to businesses that are looking to invest in the region.

Between 2014 and 2018, Mr Bongo Valentin was also on the board of Ecole Ruban Vert – the leading international school in Libreville. Mr Bongo Valentin oversaw the school’s construction and first operational years as Chairman of the Board. In 2018, Mr Bongo Valentin resigned from the board owing to other commitments and frequent travel abroad.

Noureddin Bongo Valentin has also served in a pro-bono capacity as Vice-President of the Foundation SBO, which is based in Libreville. This charitable foundation seeks to promote initiatives for women and young people in Gabon owing to their vulnerability within local society. Mr Bongo Valentin worked closely with the foundation to construct the Maison d’Alice – a guest house which provides free, high-quality lodging to cancer patients from low income backgrounds. Mr Bongo Valentin is currently developing and incubating start-ups within the medical, pharmaceutical, real estate and technology sectors – among others.
